New Position Anne Britton Collection Services Coordinator

Anne Britton, the former Youth Services Coordinator, now serves the Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library as the Collection Services Coordinator! For the past 13 years, Britton has held various roles in our Adult Services and Youth Services departments and served as the administrator of the Bittersweet Branch and the Harris Branch. She holds a Bachelor of Elementary Education from Indiana University South Bend and a Master of Information and Library Science from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis. Britton is a member of the Indiana Library Federation and proudly serves on the Young Hoosier Book Award Picture Book Committee, a volunteer role she has held for the past three years. Her husband of 32 years is Scott, and they have five adult children, one son-in-law and an amazing 1-year-old grandson. Britton and her husband love football, they are huge Notre Dame Fighting Irish Women’s Basketball fans and never miss a game.

Promoted Karen Palmer Youth Services Coordinator

The Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library is pleased to announce the promotion of Karen Palmer to the position of Youth Services Coordinator. Palmer began her career with Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library in 2014 as a Reference and Homebound Librarian. She was promoted to Youth Services Supervisor in 2015 and held the position for three years until 2018, when she left MPHPL to teach seventh grade social studies at Goshen Middle School. Upon her return to MPHPL in June 2022, Palmer assumed the Youth Services Team Leader position at the Mishawaka Library, a role she held prior to her most recent promotion. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Western Michigan University and a Master of Library Science from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis. Her husband, Sam, is a conductor for the Canadian Pacific Railroad. They have two dogs that they love to spoil. In Palmer’s spare time, she loves to work out at Inner Strength and Performance and is currently working on breaking her record of deadlifting 200 pounds.

Please join us in congratulating both of our employees on their new roles at the Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library!
