Harris Branch to Reopen Monday, October 2
The Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library is excited to announce that regular hours of operation will resume at the Harris Branch Monday, October 2. More information about the reopening can be found by visiting our MPHPL Harris Branch reopening article. We cannot wait to welcome you back to the Harris Branch and unveil all the improvements.
Please note due to ongoing construction we are not taking Harris Branch meeting room bookings at this time.

Phase three of our Harris Branch renovation is going smoothly and we are overjoyed that the construction project is on schedule. Without ruining the element of surprise, we are sharing a few behind-the-scenes photos to show the progress as work continues. We cannot wait to welcome you back once the project is complete.
Due to phase three including front entrance door replacement, public restroom modifications, circulation desk area renovations and construction in the Makerspace area, the Harris Branch will remain closed. As you can see from the photos shared in this update a lot of progress has been made as contractors have been steadily working for the past couple of months to revitalize the Harris Branch.
Please note the Harris Branch outside book return is open during the renovations.

Phase three of the Harris Branch renovation is underway! Due to the scope of the work, including replacing the front entrance doors and slight modifications to our public restrooms, the Harris Branch is temporarily closed as of Monday, July 3.
The outside book return is open during the closure.

Phase two of renovations is expected to be completed around July 1. Phase three will begin shortly thereafter. Due to the scope of the work, including replacing the front entrance doors and slight modifications to our public restrooms, the Harris Branch will be closed beginning Monday, July 3.
What to Expect:
- Beginning Friday, June 23, patrons will be unable to select Harris as a hold pickup location in our catalog.
- Online catalog access to the Harris Branch materials will be unavailable beginning Saturday, July 1. Staff will be able to assist patrons in finding and checking out materials that day.
- Saturday, July 1 will be the last day to redeem Summer Reading prizes at the Harris Branch. Selection will be limited, while supplies last. Prize redemption can be made through August 5 at our Mishawaka Library or Bittersweet Branch.
- For the duration of the closure, access to the outside book return will remain available. Materials can also be returned to our other locations (see below).

Construction at the Harris Branch continues on schedule. We are excited to report renovations have entered the second phase and are expected to continue throughout June.
Changes to expect on your next visit:
- Adult fiction and media shelves are located in front of the fireplace.
- Adult non-fiction is located in the Children’s area through the archway.
- Study rooms are unavailable.
- Adult computers (2) are located next to the service desk.
- Bathrooms are accessible off of the lobby.
All programming is suspended at the Harris Branch during this time. Meeting rooms are unavailable for booking. Teen and children’s materials are located in Meeting Room A/B.
Drop box access for returned materials is available inside at the front desk as well as at our external drive-through return. We will update you if the location of return changes in the future.

Construction at the Harris Branch has officially started. The first phase of renovations kicked off Monday, January 16. During construction the Harris Branch will be browse-and-borrow only until further notice. Hours of operation at the location will remain the same.
Changes to expect on your next visit:
- The teen area and children’s materials are now in Meeting Room A/B.
- Youth DVDs are available in the lobby.
- All other media materials are available near the adult fiction/non-fiction area.
All programming is suspended at the Harris Branch during this time. Meeting rooms are unavailable for booking. Study room availability is extremely limited and may soon be unavailable. Limited computer access will be available for adults.
Dropbox access for returned materials is available inside at the front desk as well as at our external drive-through return. We will update you if the location of return changes in the future.
