The Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library (MPHPL) is excited to announce the launch of the 2025 Summer Reading Challenge. This year’s challenge will run from Monday, June 2, to Monday, August 4.
MPHPL to Host Groundbreaking Black Hoosiers Traveling Exhibit
In celebration of Juneteenth, MPHPL will honor the resilience and achievements of African Americans by hosting the Groundbreaking Black Hoosiers traveling exhibit. The exhibit will be on display from June 16 to June 21 in the Heritage Room of the downtown Mishawaka Library.
Cardholders Have Free Access to Newspapers.com Library Edition
The Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library purchased the Newspapers.com Library Edition multi-state collection digital archive subscription for all cardholders.

The Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library is pleased to offer access to the revamped Mishawaka Memories Digital Archive.
Mishawaka Memories Digital Archive offers photographs, letters and other digitized media related to Mishawaka’s history and beyond. Anyone, anywhere – anytime can explore the MPHPL Mishawaka Memories Digital Archive by visiting the website.
All MPHPL Locations Are National Safe Place Stations
The Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library is proud that all of our library locations are Youth Service Bureau (YSB) of St. Joseph County Safe Stations! Currently there are 22,097 Safe Place Stations across the country.
Sarah Holmes and Mary Nicolini Appointed to the MPHPL Board of Trustees
The Mishawaka Penn-Harris Public Library is excited to officially welcome Sarah Holmes and Mary Nicolini to the MPHPL Board of Trustees! Holmes was appointed by the St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners, and the Penn-Harris-Madison School Board appointed Nicolini.
Free Radon Kits Available at MPHPL for St. Joseph County Residents
MPHPL has partnered with the St. Joseph County Department of Health to help spread the word about their important Radon-Free Homes Initiative. Residents can visit any MPHPL location during operating hours to pick up a free radon test kit at the front desk, courtesy of the St. Joseph County Department of Health.
