Why Do I Need a Library Card?
Kanopy is only available through libraries, so you need to be a cardholder of a participating library like MPHPL to start watching Kanopy. If you are a MPHPL cardholder, you can start watching by signing up with your valid public library card number and PIN. You will then be asked to create an account. Some restrictions apply.
What is Kanopy Kids?
Kanopy Kids is Kanopy’s collection of movies and shows for kids available in public libraries only. Kanopy Kids is a tightly curated collection of the best children’s programming available today. The kids’ selection is curated to support early literacy, STEM education and foreign language learning. Using favorite children’s characters from Sesame Street, PBS Kids, Weston Woods and more. The collection of kids films inspires empathy, critical thinking and self-esteem in young viewers. To access free materials on Kanopy you must first create an account by using your MPHPL card number and visiting https://mphpl.kanopy.com.
Next, you are prompted to create a username using your email address and a password for your free Kanopy account. Once you create your account, you can use the Kanopy website to stream video content on your computer or smart TV or visit the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store to download the Kanopy app for your smartphone or tablet.
