Step back in time with the Mishawaka Memories Digital Archive, a free online collection from the Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library. This archive includes photographs, letters, postcards and other digitized items that highlight Mishawaka and Michiana history. You can explore it from anywhere, at any time—whether you are researching family roots, studying local history, or simply curious about how the area has changed.
“Our collection now houses hundreds of photos and other memorabilia highlighting area architecture, historical events such as the Civil War, and even decades of MPHPL activity. This resource is a favorite among our patrons,” said MPHPL Public Services Director Jennifer Ludwig. “Our staff continue to work tirelessly inputting new items, some of which patrons will see for the first time.”
“The Mishawaka Memories Digital Archive is a one-of-a-kind, free online resource for our community,” said MPHPL Director Donna Meeks. “It preserves our local stories and puts them at everyone’s fingertips—so residents can connect with the people, places and moments that have shaped their past.”
The archive is always growing. Library staff continue to add new materials as time and resources allow. That means the collections will expand over time, and you may find something new each time you visit, so visit often.
