A Teens-Only Space at Each MPHPL Library Location

Each library in the Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library system has a designated Young Adult (Teen) Room to meet the needs of library patrons in grades 6-12. This space is intended for teens to read, study, do homework, socialize quietly, and engage in other group or individual activities.
 

Popular Teen Fiction and Magazines

Materials found in the teen room are geared towards students in grades 6-12 and include fiction, graphic novels, and magazines.  The Mishawaka Library also has gaming guides available for check-out.  Teen audiobooks are housed with the adult audiobooks.  Patrons of all ages are welcome to browse and check out materials in the YA collection; however, the use of seating space is reserved for teen patrons.
 

Teen Programming

Young Adult Librarians are on staff to plan programs, select materials for the Young Adult collection, and assist teens in a variety of ways.  Many programs meet monthly and include gaming, lock-ins after hours, writing and art groups, and more.  A complete list of programs can be found in our multi-month program guides available at each library location and on our website.
 

Free Wi-Fi

Teens wishing to use personal laptops, tablets, or phones in the Teen Room areas may use the library's free Wi-Fi network. No password is needed.

Mishawaka Library Partners with the South Bend Area Genealogical Society to Host First-ever Scan-a-Thon

On Saturday, Nov. 13, Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library, in partnership with the South Bend Area Genealogical Society, will host a Scan-a-Thon at the downtown Mishawaka Library from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Heritage Room at Mishawaka Library Opens Monday, Oct. 25

The Heritage Room at the downtown Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library will open on Monday, October 25. The doors were closed to the room in March of 2020, and Monday will be the first time that library-goers will be able to step foot back in the room, which has a new name and a new purpose.
