Local and Family History

Changes are afoot at the library! The Heritage Center and its contents have moved, and it is now known as Local and Family History. It now calls the Mishawaka Reference Department home. This means that the collection is now available whenever the library is open.  (Six days a week instead of only three!)  Some parts of the collection, such as the microfilm, older city directories, yearbooks, etc., are available upon request - just ask the friendly Reference staff.  Our microfilm is also searchable in the catalog.  For more information click here

Don’t want to come into the library? Remember for a limited time, you can access Ancestry at home with your library card. We still offer curbside service for printouts. We also offer Book-A-Librarian over Zoom!  Just call the Mishawaka Reference desk at (574) 259-5277 x1300.

Currently, we are unable to accommodate research beyond 30 minutes due to the COVID 19 pandemic, but we will in the future - thank you for your patience!
