How Do I Use the New MPHPL App?

Even though we may not be back to functioning as we did pre-COVID, it doesn’t mean we haven’t been working behind the scenes to improve our service to you.  Whether it is helping you better access our eBooks or learn about how to access your account in our new catalog, MPHPL is here to help make access to information and services a little easier!

MPHPL App vs. Mobile Catalog

As of late August 2020, the library’s catalog has changed.  With this change comes two new ways to access our online catalog: the MPHPL app and the Mobile Catalog (via your mobile device’s browser).  Each has its own perks, so use one or both of them!

MPHPL App Perks*:

-With this tool you can:

                        -Stay logged into your account

-Access your account with just a couple taps

-Quickly look for titles and place holds

-Save your library barcode for easy access when checking out

-View library news and upcoming events

-To get the MPHPL app, simply search for “MPHPL” in your app store.

*Note that this app gives you access to commonly used features, but does not have all the bells and whistles of the online catalog.

Mobile Catalog Perks:

                        -Access account information

-Look up titles and place holds

                        -See full summaries of titles

                        -View bestseller lists

-Create and add titles to lists

-To get to the mobile catalog:

-Go to  OR go to our main site ( and click “New Catalog” at the top of the page.

Overdrive eBooks & Your Kindle

If you have an older model Kindle, you may have recently learned that beginning October, 30, 2020, you will no longer be able to access the Overdrive app or website through your device.  Don’t worry, though, because we have a workaround for you.

To get eBooks sent to your older Kindle, you will need a computer or other mobile device with Internet access.  From there you can log on to Overdrive’s website to check out eBooks and then have them sent to your Kindle.  For more information and step-by-step instructions, please check out this video.
