Helpful Tax Resources & Information

Need some help navigating tax season this year?  Checkout the information below for helpful hints and resources to make this tax season a little easier.  As always, feel free to stop by or contact the library at (574) 259-5277 if you have any questions.*

Tax Forms 


  • No paper forms were sent to any library this year. We are able to print forms for you.
  •  - This is the Indiana Department of Revenue’s website.  You can find and print state forms directly from this site.
    • Individual Tax forms 
    • Schedules 
    • Instructions 
  • If you are sending in paper forms, find out where to send them here.

Important. When filing, you must include Schedules 3, 7, and CT-40, along with Form IT-40. You must include Schedules 1 (add-backs), 2 (deductions), 5 (credits, such as Indiana withholding), 6 (offset credits) and IN-DEP (dependent information) if you have entries on those schedules. Please note that during this time, the first ten pages (black and white) are free.  All other pages will cost $0.15 per black and white page and $0.50 per color page. 


Print at the Library  

  • With your library card, you can use our public computers to find and print the tax forms you need. 
  • If you need assistance printing off forms, please stop in and speak with a reference associate. Library staff cannot advise you on which forms you will need. 
  • If you know the name or number of the form you will need, please bring that with you. 

Mobile printing 

  • If you already have forms on your digital device, you can send them to one of the library's printers while at home and pick them up when they are ready.

Curbside pickup 

  • For those who are uncomfortable coming into the library, we do offer curbside pickup.   
  • Simply contact your local branch and we will be happy to print your tax documents and bring them out to you.  We also offer faxing services if necessary.  


Tax Prep Help 

VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance)

  • This year VITA will run through Goodwill Industries.  To make an appointment or for more information, you can call 574-800-1361, or book an appointment online at


Free Tax Return Preparation for Qualifying Taxpayers 

  • Find out if you qualify for free tax prep help through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) or Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) programs.
  • This site also tells you where to find a VITA or TCE site and which documents to bring with you to your appointment.


AARP Foundation Tax-Aide Locator 

  • For those who qualify, find information on tax prep services.  Please note that due to COVID-19, these services may be limited. 
  • Check back regularly as this site will start being updated late January/early February.

    • If your income is $72,000 and below, you are eligible for free online tax prep and filing. 
      • Prepare and file your federal taxes online for free 
      • Choose from several tax-prep softwares to complete your taxes 
      • Get guided preparation as you answer questions along the way 
    • If your income is greater than $72,000, you are not eligible for free online tax prep, but you can still file your federal taxes for free online using Free File Fillable Forms
      • You can fill out and file your tax forms online for free 
      • You will need to know how to fill out your own tax forms with limited guidance and auto-calculation help.  





*Please note that library staff is not authorized to answer specific tax questions, such as, advising you on which forms you need.  We are happy to help you find the forms online, though, if you have the tax form name or number.
