LISTEN UP! June is National Audiobook Month

Kick off your summer with an audiobook!  Whether you are an avid listener already or curious to try one out, June is the perfect time since it is National Audiobook Month.  Audiobooks are a great way to take reading on the go as you travel this summer, work in the yard, or even just chill out by the pool.  It’s also a great way to get your reading in for MPHPL’s Summer Reading Program.

Not sure what MPHPL has to offer in audio?

Here are a few ways to find out what is available:

(1) Browse the library’s online catalog

Look up a specific title to see if we have it in audio format or conduct an advance search in our online catalog and specifically request to see what items we have available in audiobook CD and downloadable audiobook formats.

(2) Sign up for the monthly “Audiobooks at MPHPL” newsletter

Simply go to www.mphpl.org, find the “Reader’s Resources” tab, and choose “Books in Your Inbox.”  Fill out the online form and you are ready to receive highlights each month of new audiobooks that have been added to the collection.

(3) Browse our digital library via Overdrive's Libby app  (available for most digital devices)

The eAudiobooks available in our digital library can be downloaded onto smart phones and other digital devices for listening on the go.  Our digital library has special collections dedicated to audiobooks, so it will be easy to find one to try in no time!
