UP, UP, AND AWAY! Float away with balloons as you learn how to twist balloons with balloon artist, Twister Mike. Pre-inflated balloons will be provided. Registration for children entering grades 4-6 is required and begins Thursday, June 2. ![]() WONDERFUL WORLD OF Families can enjoy a movie and make a craft. No registration is required. ![]() A BARREL OF MONKEYS Go bananas with an afternoon of monkey fun! Registration for children ages 3 1/2 through entering Kindergarten is required and begins Thursday, June 9. ![]() WEAVE YOUR WAY THROUGH AFRICA Join our African adventure! The story Zomo the Rabbit: A Trickster Tale from West Africa by Gerald McDermott will be performed. Following the performance, children will enjoy some traditional African games and weave their very own paper version of an Ashanti kente cloth. For children entering grades 1-3. Registration is required and begins Thursday, June 16. ![]() BASEBALL AROUND THE WORLD Enjoy a brief history of baseball and learn about its growing popularity around the world. Actual players will talk about their love of the game, the rules of the sport, and read the story Hit the Ball Duck by Jez Alborough. Rounding out the fun will be the Hawks’ fun-loving mascot Swoop. No registration is required. All ages are invited to this fun family program! ![]() HARRY POTTER TRIVIA Get sorted into one of the four houses, enjoy an exciting trivia game with questions from all seven books, and discuss your favorite scenes with fellow fans. Afterwards, choose from an assortment of special ingredients and create your very own magic wand. Registration for children entering grades 3-6 is required and begins Thursday, June 30. |
"SAMPLE THE WORLD" SAMPLER There will be a sampling of stories, songs, and finger plays from around the world for all ages. No registration is required. Adult caregivers are to remain with children seven years and younger. ![]() PIRATE PARTY Aargh Matey! Come for a hullabaloo of activities and make a treasure to take home. Registration for children entering grades 1-6 is required and begins Wednesday, June 1. ![]() DANCE AROUND THE WORLD Join us for this family program presented by the Conservatory of Dance as they perform selections from the "Contemporary Nutcracker." Music and dance from various countries will be represented. Travel the world and never leave Mishawaka! No registration is required. ![]() MOVIE MATINEE Beat the heat! Come cool off while watching a fun family movie about a young girl and her older sister. Based on a children’s book series. No registration is required. |
IT'S BOOK TIME WITH RONALD MCDONALD Ronald and his special friends will visit the library and show children that reading can be fun through stories and other activities. This educational family program is designed for children grades K-3. Free Tickets are required and will be available Friday, May 20. ![]() THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF GARDENING A variety of hands on activities are planned to beautify the library grounds as well as learning techniques for your own home gardens. Parents are welcome to attend. Registration for children entering grades 1-6 is required and begins Thursday, May 19. ![]() WALK-IN INTERNATIONAL CRAFT DAYS Be creative this summer! Visit the Harris Branch Library and participate in our Walk-in-Craft days featuring crafts from around the world. There will be a variety of projects available and you are invited to complete one or all of them. No registration is required. ![]() STORIES FROM THE FIRESTATION Firefighters from the Clay Fire Department will be conducting a three-week story program. After each session, the firefighters will have a special event for those registered. For children 3 1/2 to 5 years old and their adult caregivers. Take a tour around the world through different ethnic types of drum and percussion instruments! Jim Catalano from the band VibeNation has a large collection of drums from around the world and he will bring them in for show-n-tell-n-play.
