Supervision of Children in the Library
The Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library strives to provide an environment conducive to lifelong learning and the personal development of its users. The MPHPL staff is committed to helping children with activities related to the library. Library staff cannot nor is it their responsibility to serve as babysitters, teachers, or disciplinarians. Parents are responsible for the behavior of their children while they are in the library.
Children 7 years of age and younger must be accompanied and directly supervised at all times by a parent or other responsible person over the age of thirteen years.
Children 8 years and older may use the library unattended by an adult, subject to all library rules and policies concerning behavior, conduct, and demeanor.
