Children's Services
Children's Services provides special library facilities for all young patrons through sixth grade and for those adults interested in working with children. Throughout the year the staff provides scheduled tours, class visits, unique displays, family and special programs, and school visits. Programs for younger children include registered toddler and preschool storytime sessions. Assistance with research and reading guidance is provided by staff.

Sharing Box - Available all month long at all three locations. Read a story and create a craft with your child.
Saturday Morning Stories - On the second Saturday of the month at the downtown Mishawaka Library
Storytime Sampler - On the second and fourth Mondays of the month at the Bittersweet Branch Library
Treetop Tales- On the first and third Mondays of the month at the Harris Branch Library
Who's Hiding this Month in the Library?- Each month the Bittersweet Branch encourages children to search for a book character in the children's room. A drawing is held at the end of the month for two lucky winners.
Special Programs - Elementary-aged programming, holiday events, and other fun activities.
Special Collections (NEW!) - Information and forms regarding our book club collection for parents and teachers.
Lists and Links (NEW!) - Helpful, kid-friendly resources providing recommended reading, homework help and entertainment.
Computer Services- Each location has computers for use by children aged twelve and under. Most stations have word processing, Internet access, and games which are educational and fun.
School Visits - Staff are more than happy to visit classrooms or to have children come in for a tour of what the library has to offer.
