Borrowing Materials from Other Libraries
For books or other materials the library does not own, you may request an Interlibrary Loan. This service is available only to Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Library cardholders residing or owning property in Penn or Harris Township as well as fee cardholders.
It usually takes 1-2 weeks to obtain materials through Interlibrary Loan. You will be contacted through phone or email (your choice) when your material is ready for pickup. The loan period is four weeks and there are no renewals.
We accept requests for: books, CD's, audio cassettes, audio books, articles, nonfiction videos/DVDs, and microfilm. We do not accept requests for entertainment or feature films, CD-ROMS, Playaways, materials newly published within the last 6 months, textbooks or reference materials. Most Libraries will not loan new material or local history/genealogy material.
Every effort is made to obtain materials free of charge. If for any reason this cannot be done, you will be contacted or told at the time of the request.
There is a $1.00 charge for each ILL item not picked up by due date.
