BUZZ INTO YOUR LIBRARY! All ages are invited to buzz into the Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library on Tuesday, June 3 at 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. for a presentation of No registration is required. SIX-LEGGED SCIENCE! Park naturalists from the St. Joseph County Parks Outreach Program will present an interactive program on the world of insects. See live specimens, learn about collecting and releasing insects, and make a craft. Registration for children entering grades K – 6 begins Wednesday, May 21. FLOAT LIKE A BUTTERFLY Float like butterflies during this preschool program. An interactive version of the story The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle will be performed. Children may try butterfly bowling and the caterpillar crawl! A butterfly-themed movie and craft will round out the program. Registration for children 3 1/2 years old to entering Kindergarten with an adult begins Tuesday, June 3. ZOO TO YOU! Potawatomi Zoo’s “edzoocators” will be here with a hissing cockroach, a tarantula, and some bug-eating amphibians. Come and discover interesting facts about these fascinating live creatures. No registration required. LET’S GO ON A BUG HUNT Go on a bug hunt, hear bug stories, play bug games, and make a craft. Registration for children entering grades 1 - 3 begins Tuesday, June 24. GO BUGGY FOR BALLOONS! Go “buggy” as you learn how to twist balloons into shapes with Balloon Artist, Michael Standiford. Pre-inflated balloons will be provided for the children to twist. Registration for children entering grades 4 - 6 begins Tuesday, July 1. |
WEB WEAVERS! A park naturalist from the St. Joseph County Parks Outreach Program will lead us in a fun, interactive introduction to spiders and what makes them unique. We’ll learn about spider web construction and observe live specimens. A craft will be included. Registration for children entering grades K – 6 begins Wednesday, May 21. ZOO TO YOU! Potawatomi Zoo’s “edzoocators” will be here with a hissing cockroach, a tarantula, and some bug-eating amphibians. Come and discover interesting facts about these fascinating live creatures. No registration required. “S’MORE” CAMPFIRE FUN! Join us on the patio for our annual evening of stories and fun around the campfire. Families are invited to bring lawn chairs or blankets and their own “S’mores” makings. Marshmallows will be provided. Registration for children 3 1/2 years old to entering Kindergarten begins Wednesday, July 2. BUSY AS BEES Alex Lesniak, named Young Bee Keeper of the Year, will be presenting the life of a honey bee.
